As followers of Jesus, we believe in the Sufficiency and Supremacy of Scripture as the Ultimate Authority in ALL MATTERS of life – Sola Scriptura (according to Scripture alone).
God’s Word doesn’t lose its authority because someone else chooses to reject it. God is the Ultimate Authority and He Himself IS Truth, whether anyone believes Him or not.
It’s not my job as a follower of Jesus to abandon God’s Truth as authoritative simply because the person I’m talking to chooses to reject it or let go of it. My job is to love God and love neighbor, in that order. I am to love my neighbor through proclaiming the Truths of God’s Word, trusting in God that it is inspired, preserved and made sufficient by a Sovereign Holy Creator.
