About

This space exists to help people know Jesus, love Him deeply, and follow Him faithfully into His Kingdom.

Much of what is written here flows from a simple vision of discipleship:

Being with Jesus.
Becoming like Jesus.
Doing as Jesus did.

Following Jesus is not built on intensity or novelty. It is formed through a lifetime of steady obedience — learning to live with Him, become like Him, and walk in His ways in the real places where God has placed us.

The reflections here explore faithfulness, vocation, formation, shepherding, and leadership as we learn to live before the Lord in everyday life.

Pastor Darryl A. Jones

Who I Am

My name is Darryl. Twenty-seven years ago, my family planted Crossroads Church in Grain Valley, Missouri, where I now serve as the Lead Pastor and primary Teaching Pastor.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of shepherding people, mentoring disciples, and investing in the next generation of leaders — walking with them through the real questions of faith, work, family, and calling.

Along the way, the Lord has been patiently shaping my own life through His merciful chiseling and refining. Many of the lessons I now pass on to others were first learned through that gracious work of correction and growth. Much of what I write grows out of those experiences.

My ministry is rooted in the conviction that Scripture is sufficient and that Jesus Christ is worthy of our whole lives.

What I Write About

The reflections here tend to orbit around four areas:

Faithfulness
Learning to walk with Jesus steadily over the long arc of life.

Vocation
Understanding work, stewardship, and calling in light of the Kingdom of God.

Formation
Practices and habits that shape a life of devotion to Jesus.

Shepherding
Pastoral reflections on discipleship, care for souls, and guiding people in the way of Jesus.

Leadership
Leading people and ministries with biblical conviction, humility, and faithful stewardship.

Why I Write

I write because many people quietly drift toward “just enough.”

Just enough faith.
Just enough obedience.
Just enough attention to Jesus to ease the conscience.

But Scripture calls us to something deeper — a life that is truly with Jesus, becoming like Him, and learning to walk in His ways.

My aim is not to impress or build a platform, but simply to point people to Jesus and help them live faithfully before Him in the ordinary places of life.

I also write because the life of following Jesus is meant to be shared in real community. Over the years, I have had the privilege of walking closely with men and friends who are learning to follow Jesus seriously — encouraging one another, telling the truth, and strengthening each other toward faithfulness.

Much of what is written here grows out of those kinds of relationships.

If these reflections help strengthen that kind of life in even a few people, the writing has served its purpose.

And that’s the heartbeat of this space —
Minimizing me.
Making much of Jesus.
